For those of you who don't know, I have a frame shop at my home. I've been learning to frame from my mentor, Jennie Henderson who owned Boulder Street Gallery and Framing in downtown Colorado Springs.
This was the gallery where I was the Gallery Coordinator with 30+ artists as we were known as the Boulder Street Gallery Artists. It was a fun and character building chapter in my life for 6 years. Unfortunately, the gallery and shop are closed since Jennie's death in November 2019. But I will always cherish the fun times we had together and the close friendship I had with Jennie. She was a beautiful soul.
About 5 years ago, I bought a frame shop inventory from a friend in Louisiana - another story for another day. But, I have my own shop here in my home where I frame for myself and many of my artist friends and customers.
I make frames in many standard sizes, so I always have a variety in stock ready to go. I can also make custom frames from sample mouldings I can order from my supplier. I make the frames, cut the mats and glass or plexi, and finish with paper backing and wire, ready to hang.
